If you’re looking to replace old windows or outfit a new building, you’re surely looking for windows that are storm resistant. You’ve come to the right place! Aluplex offers high quality, durable windows to the entire GTA. Let’s take a deeper look at what we offer.
Lasting Windows
While plenty of companies offer windows that resist heavy rain, snow, and storming now, how long will that last? It can be hard to tell how durable a window is when you buy it. After all, if it looks well put-together, there’s not an easy way to test its strength without risk of breaking it.
When you buy windows from Aluplex, you know you’re buying windows you can trust to stand the test of time. Aluplex windows are made to resist storms just as efficiently ten years from now as they can today.
While glass is an important factor in window production, the frame is actually equally as important. If a window’s frame is weak or made of low quality materials, the glass being in one piece won’t matter. Rain will leak in around the glass, water can rot a wooden frame, and there will be no temperature insulation to speak of. Aluplex windows don’t just have good glass, they have high quality frames as well.
Single Hung Windows
Some of the best windows for storm resistance are single hung windows. Single hung windows are those with two main sections, the bottom of which slides upward to open. The reason why these are so good for storm resistance is because:
- They’re held shut by gravity. Casement windows, which swing outward, are easier for wind to push open or slam closed. Single hung windows do not have this problem. They remain fixed in their track even when the wind is at its strongest.
- They sit tightly in a track. Because single hung windows slide up and down on a track, they’re less likely to leak water or air. When closed, all but the top of the adjustable part of the window are snug in a track. The top side is pressed tightly against the static part of the window and a rubber seal prevents leaking.
- They’re usually on the small side. The smaller a pane of glass, the less likely it is to break from impact. That makes these compact windows pretty sturdy.
Other Windows
While single hung are our favorites for storm resistance, we also have other windows to choose from. We offer casement windows, bay windows, awning windows, and bow windows. These are built with the same quality as our single hung windows. Even if their design is less resistant to storms, their build is of equally good quality.
